Charlie Lange is a multidisciplinary artist and art educator based in NYC. They were born and raised in Queensbury, New York, tucked in the Adirondack Mountains. Charlie received their BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2024 after completing their thesis in mixed media painting. They completed their MA in Visual Art Education and K-12 teaching certification from Hunter College in 2026.
Charlie’s work explores the experience of living within a bodily vessel, often considering the body’s deep ties to nature and ephemerality. These themes are communicated through expressive color, mark-making, and textures. Charlie gathers subject matter that reflects daily life or recent contemplations. Nowadays, they are most fascinated with the texture created from colored pencils drawn on wood.
When not drawing, sculpting, or painting, Charlie can be found teaching ceramics or wandering through a wooded area.
